How I’m Surviving A-Levels Without Losing My Mind: My Real-Life Study Routine
Intro:
Let’s keep it 💯 — A-Levels are no joke. Between Biology that wants you to memorize the entire human body, Agriculture that makes you feel like you’re running a farm, and ICT that’s basically tech-wizardry, it can get overwhelming real fast. But guess what? I’ve found a rhythm that works, and today, I’m giving you the full behind-the-scenes of my daily routine. No filters. No cap.
☀️ 6:00 AM – Rise & Recharge
Yeah, I wake up early (okay, most days 😅). I spend 10 minutes doing a light stretch and listening to my “Morning Motivation” playlist — mostly Afrobeats and some chill gospel. No phone scrolling. Just vibes. I mentally go over what I want to achieve that day.
📌 Pro tip: Mornings are GOLDEN for brain work. Even 20 minutes of reviewing what you studied yesterday can boost your memory massively.
📘 7:30 AM – School Time = Active Time
During lessons, I’m that guy with a notebook full of doodles, arrows, and color codes. I don’t just write what the teacher says. I write what I understand. I ask questions. I Google terms during break. I even secretly record difficult lessons to replay later at home (don’t tell the teachers lol).
🧃 Breaks = Power Boosts
Every break isn’t just “eating time.” I take 5 mins to walk and breathe, especially under a tree. I call it my Nature Reset Mode. You’d be shocked what a little sun and shade can do to your brain.
🧪 After-School = Smart Study Mode
No cramming. I pick ONE subject per evening.
- Monday: Biology theory
- Tuesday: Agri practicals + notes
- Wednesday: ICT mock papers
- Thursday: Flashcard review
- Friday: Group discussion (we roast each other if you forget a definition 😂)
- Weekend: Past paper binge + chill
📌 Apps I use:
- Anki for flashcards
- Google Keep for quick notes
- ChatGPT or Smartie (my AI) to break down tough concepts like “glycolysis” or “soil erosion” in plain English.
🌙 10:30 PM – Shutdown Ritual
No books. Just soft music, a short prayer, and gratitude journaling (yeah I journal, it helps clear the mind). Sleep is not negotiable. I learned the hard way that a tired brain = a forgetful brain.
💬 Final Thoughts
A-Levels are hard. No one’s denying that. But with a real routine and the right mindset, you don’t have to lose your mind to pass. Find your flow. Make it yours. And don’t forget to take care of you in the process.
